It is intended to respond to the municipality's housing problems, through the co-funding of rehabilitation works with aid from the RRP and the 1st Law.

The municipality of
Matosinhos, through the housing company MatosinhosHabit,
will promote a series of rehabilitation works in buildings with safety, health and precariousness problems. Contemplating PRR aid and promoted by the
National Program "1st Right", the objective is to
give an answer to those who live in undignified conditions, for this, making the co-participation, in several cases the totality of the investment of the interventions made.
All residents who have problems with sewage, plumbing, electrical faults or damaged floors and belong to a household with a gross monthly income not exceeding EUR 1,921.72, with bank deposits of less than EUR 28,825.80 may apply for these rehabilitation works.
To present their applications, the municipalities must present themselves at the MatosinhosHabit facilities, where they will find a specialised team prepared to guide the candidates and clarify any questions they may have, and will then take all the necessary steps throughout the process. And, after the application is presented, it is exposed to a technical evaluation, in order to assess the undignified habitability conditions.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of MatosinhosHabit states: "with this campaign, we hope to generate adhesion to this programme and, in this way, rehabilitate the municipality's housing stock (...) the great objective is and will always be to improve the living conditions of the citizens, relieve their expenses and promote social and territorial inclusion, within our action on the fundamental right to decent housing".
