Accessible House: CML visits Brussels to learn about housing projects
The Councillor for Housing, Filipa Roseta, visited the award-winning housing model Community Land Trust Brussels (CLTB) in Brussels, as part of the research on collaborative models of affordable housing production, in order to help reinvent the cooperative movement in Lisbon.

During her days in Brussels, between June 22 and 24, the Councillor got to know collaborative solutions based on the promotion of low cost housing through the transfer of ownership to the communities.

Over the past five years, the CLTB project has completed five objectives, including about 450 people in 103 houses. The houses are 20-50% more affordable than those on the free market.

With the support of the capital's regional government, and in collaboration with local associations, CLTB develops housing projects located on land owned by the Community Land Trust Brussels.

Filipa Roseta also visited the local development project Molen Geek, a social impact initiative covered in the Molenbeek-Saint-Jean social district, a region that until a few years ago had a high rate of youth unemployment.

Through digital training, more than 3000 young people have developed soft skills that make it easier to enter the job market.
