The biggest concern with the opening of the academic year is the accommodation for university students, and with this various solutions have been presented to address the problem, so that in the best possible way students can have a peaceful academic career and inherent concerns.
BE/Açores has appealed for measures to address the problem of student accommodation, which includes the payment of rents to university students and even the creation of new ventures for university accommodation.
The support refers to Azorean students displaced either within the archipelago or to the mainland. This support aims at facing the displacement and distance that they will have to travel to study.
According to António Lima, deputy from the Left Block, the solution should go through partnerships beneficial to the students, highlighting the finding of buildings that can lodge them as university residence, also in this meeting it was discussed the fact that many students go through some difficulties when they don't have any kind of scholarship or help.
The Left Bloc proposed that the supports should be applied to all higher education students who meet the requirements and showed concern about how much it can influence the absence of student support.
