Fixando announced today that it has generated over 5 million hours of work in Portugal since its founding in 2017, thanks to its activity in connecting customers to over 50,000 registered specialists in the country, making it the largest player operating in Portugal.
"We wanted to announce these indicators right after May 1st - Labor Day - because they are historic and truly impacting, but today our goal is to reach 9 million hours in 2024," says Alice Nunes, director of New Business at APP, according to a statement sent to SUPERCASA Notícias.
Fixando found these results after analyzing 150,000 service hirings already done at APP, and that much was due to the behavior generated by the impulse of business transition to digital and also by new consumption habits that emerged during the pandemic.
Although the services market suffered a decline in 2021, as a result of the long periods of confinement which conditioned the performance of numerous activities, the company foresees a recovery in 2022, with growth in the order of 20%, and which will reach 30% in 2024.
Even though the difficulties caused by the pandemic affected many business areas, specialists in the areas of wellness (+54%) and home care and maintenance (+24%) saw their activity boosted in the first year of the pandemic, compared to 2019, as a result of the pandemic circumstances that led people to be more concerned about their physical and mental health and, consequently, the place where they live and, in many cases, work.
As for the presence of the different business areas online, Fixando explains that, slowly, there is an increasingly balanced distribution by area, which follows the demand trend of recent years.
In 2017, the areas of technical assistance, wellness and home totaled about 75% of the specialists enrolled in Fixando, and in 2021 these categories came to represent 50% of the total number of professionals, with other areas, which previously had a very small presence on digital, increasing their strength online. In the same period, home services went from 1% of those enrolled in Fixando, to 10% in 2021, while private lessons recorded a growth from 1% to 6%.
These indicators reinforce the importance of digital in the services market, including for more traditional specialists and professionals, where online is allowing them to recover and consolidate their business in the face of adversity in recent years.
"It is in digital that the future lies and, whether for specialists or for small and medium enterprises, it is increasingly evident and clear the importance of consolidating their business in the online market," assures Alice Nunes.
