Pampilhosa is an important railway centre and still retains its railway station, of great importance at a national level, where the Northern (between Lisbon and Porto), Beira Alta (between Pampilhosa and Vilar Formoso) and the Figueira da Foz branch (between Pampilhosa and the latter city, via Cantanhede) intersect.
