Until 1834 (date of extinction of the Orders) it was owned by the Monastery of Santos in Lisbon. The farm building was the house of Monteiro-Mór, who was the manager responsible for the property. After sale by the State at public hasta, the property comes later to Henrique da Cunha Matos de Mendia, Lente de Agronomia, of the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Par do Reino, Moço Fidalgo da Casa Real and Commander of the Order of Santiago. Henrique de Mendia was one of the scholars of the vineyard at the end of the 19th century, having looked at some problems of the time, namely the phylloxera, which attacked the vineyards. He developed the cultivation of the vineyard in Quinta do Mor, having introduced new varieties in Portugal, pioneering that earned him several awards in France. After 25 April Quinta do Mor was splendoured to its rightful owner so that, as in many other regions of the country, it was left to be abandoned. In the early years after the revolution the main building was still transformed into an educational establishment, with one of the primary schools of Aveiras de Cima taking place in some of its old abandoned rooms. In the peripheral lands of the property were built by the people of Aveiras dwellings whose licensing and legalization process lasted for years on end. Quinta do Mor numbers: The total area of the farm of Quinta do Mor is closely 5 hectares, and the implantation area of the building is encrypted at 640 square meters. The building has a gross construction area in the order of 1,280 square meters, and a deployment area of 640 square meters. The main building consists of three floors: ground floor, first and second floor.
