Face of Dog is the designation given to the section of the south coast of the island of São Miguel, Azores, situated in the vicinity of the Islet of Rosto de Cão, about 5 km east of the city center of Ponta Delgada and extending to the east to the edge of the municipality.
The old place of Rosto de Cão gave rise to the current parishes of Livramento and São Roque, which still retains that name in its official name which is, respectively, Rosto de Cão (Livramento) and Rosto de Cão (São Roque).
In the current language name is today only used to designate Islet of Dog Face (which geographically speaking up to is not even an islet, but a peninsula) and sometimes the housing area that is closest to it and gave name to the Viewpoint of the Islet of Face of Dog. #ref:326/T/02811
