Dreams come true

Lar a Gosto’s history is built on human relationships, on contact with owners and customers. On the unshakeable principle of trust, transparency and friendship with people. A story that goes back much further than the year the company was founded, in 2014, because friendship with people is a cornerstone in the life journey of its main manager.

’A customer is first and foremost a friend. It’s a fundamental value of our day-to-day work and this is reflected in the way people come to us, because they always feel supported here.’ This is what Agostinho Sá, managing partner of Lar a Gosto, says. Life has given him what he classifies as the most beautiful thing it could give him: ’the friendship of others’.

Fatherless at the age of seven, he was always used to dealing with work, with the responsibility of running the family café and grocery store in the village. As far as possible, he reconciled this with school. It was no easy task: ’Sometimes I even slept standing up, in a more secluded space we had in the café.’

He says that from the age of 12 he never stopped taking responsibility for his life. He dedicated himself to realising housing projects, he was the person everyone always turned to for help with paperwork, and he has an enviable CV in accountancy and insurance. A more serious health episode made him stop and think. It made him decide to live a quieter life and what did he do? He set up Lar a Gosto.

He says he’s following a dream. He handed over responsibilities in other areas and dedicated himself full-time to property brokerage, with a team that includes his son, Luís Sá, and a long-time collaborator, Hernâni Lousada. Since then, Lar a Gosto has proved to be a prominent company, growing every year.

’In business as in life, the most important thing is not money. The main thing is honesty and the relationship we build with people.’
