At the end of 1929, a kitchen with a floor fireplace was built in earthen brick adjacent to the building, as shown in the photos. Later, in 1980, the building underwent improvements with materials that were not compatible with the existing ones. It is possible to find centuries-old construction techniques using sand, sawdust, linseed oil (applied to the floor), lime, water, sand, and animal fat (on the walls). The floor is traditional old wood, found on the stairs and in the attic. This ’gem’ is part of the cultural heritage of the Alentejo, where all the existing details of the period have been preserved!
