In the chapel, there is a founding altarpiece with blind niches on the sides, patterned tiles and a barrel vaulted roof. In the stone altarpiece, two corinthian pilasters, decorated with grouted motifs, frame the two central niches with round sculptures, divided by a baluster column, with an arched top and a predella with three niches with bas-relief statuary. Particularly noteworthy is the Renaissance stone altarpiece dedicated to St Cosmas and St Damian (Physical Saints), from the first half of the 16th century. This construction, possibly designed by the renowned sculptor Joaquim Machado de Castro due to his close relationship with the Cerveira family, has a significant historical connection. In the 1960s, extensive reconstruction work was carried out on the house, which gave it solid structural stability. During this process, floors 2 and 3 were fitted with cement slabs. Dieser Ort verweist durch den Salzgehalt seines Wassers und die umgebende Vegetation, die Farben und Gerüche, die von ihm ausgehen, auf eine Atmosphäre der Meeresnatur. ’Das Projekt meines Hauses zu idealisieren und zu konzipieren, stellte mich vor eine große Herausforderung. In der Tat habe ich in mir die kreative Figur des Architekten und ebenso die Nießbrauchsfigur eines anspruchsvollen Bauherrn verdichtet. Anfangs verdeckte der Konflikt der Figuren die Klarheit und Objektivität, die für die Konzeption notwendig waren, aber mit der Zeit und mit der Reifung einiger Aspekte des Projekts wurde das Ergebnis meiner bescheidenen Meinung nach doppelt erreicht. Aber es mussten noch andere Herausforderungen gelöst werden. Das Teilen desselben Raumes mit einer anderen Person, meiner Frau, erzeugte Zwänge und unterschiedliche Bedenken im Rahmen der Eigenheiten jedes Einzelnen, nämlich wie sie das Haus bewohnen und leben wollten. Die für den Bau gewählten Materialien wurden in Keramik, Holz und Aluminium revolutioniert. In den Farben überwog Weiß als Hauptelement des gesamten Hauses und salzte es in fast allen Ecken und Winkeln mit weißen Kanastern. Es war von grundlegender Bedeutung, eine intime Beziehung zwischen Innen und Außen zu schaffen. Zu diesem Zweck wurde ein Innenhof entworfen, um eine Brücke mit der Südfassade des Hauses zu schaffen und eine Gambiarra mit natürlichem Licht für alle seine Abteile zu erreichen. Es wurden halbe Geschosse geschaffen, damit das Untergeschoss nicht einer möglichen Überschwemmung durch den Anstieg des Grundwasserspiegels ausgesetzt war und die vertikale Dynamik zwischen den Geschossen bestand. Die soziale Zone befand sich im Obergeschoss, dieser Bereich, breit und mit einem sehr großzügigen direkten Fuß mit Blick auf die Mündung. Platz, um Familie und Freunde an festlichen Tagen zu empfangen, artikuliert mit der Dachterrasse, dem Leuchtturm des Hauses, wo Sie einen direkteren und umliegenderen Blick über die Mündung genießen können. Im Westen wurde eine große vertikale Lamelle angebracht, um die Koexistenz mit den anderen, eher degradierten und improvisierten Konstruktionen der Einheimischen von Costa Nova do Prado zu verschleiern...’ #ref:ZG_110038 (2)
